Game of Thrones set a new series high, Vikings finished its season, Mad Men falls, and more on a busy Sunday night .
Yet again, Game of Thrones continues to surprise me. After setting a series the past two weeks, it has done it again, this time grabbing 5.35 million viewers an 2.8 demo. Just amazing. Its' lead out, Veep, took advantage and jumped a tenth from last week, scoring 1.32 million viewers and 0.7 demo.
The season finale of History's first scripted series, Vikings, finished its freshman season with 3.58 million viewers and 1.3 demo, down a tick from last week. Overall, a very solid start to scripted programming.
Lifetime has counter-programmed the male-skewing series on the lineup with its female-driven lineup. Army Wives brought in 2.76 million viewers and 0.9 demo (even with last week) with The Client List jumping a tenth to 2.39 million viewers and 0.9 demo. This is one of the most compatible lineups on television.
Also attracting the female audience was Bravo. Essentially a clip show, The Real Housewives of Atlanta nabbed 2.43 million viewers and 1.1 demo, with its lead out, Married to Medicine pulling in 1.94 million viewers and 0.9 demo. Solid retention.
AMC's Mad Men stopped the bleeding among total viewers (2.38 million) but the demo slipped a tenth from last week, to a 0.8. Reviews online for the new season have not been too kind, so it'll be interesting to see where the ratings eventually settle.
The highest rated NBA Playoff game occurred at 7 o'clock (on TNT) with 3.51 million viewers and 1.5 demo.
