Deadliest Catch lead the night in the key demographic, while MTV had the season premiere of its popular series, Awkward. All that and more for Tuesdays cable ratings .
Once again, cable is the place to be on Tuesday nights. Generally a slow night, cable networks seem to be stepping up their game.
On Discovery, the season premiere of Deadliest Catch led the night for all of cable. With 3.47 million viewers and a 1.6 demo, it topped NBC's Voice-inflated, Ready for Love - yikes!
MTV aired the third season premiere of Awkward. The network aired two episodes, one at 10 and one at 1030. Ironically, both episodes had the same 2.14 million viewers and 0.9 demo. Talk about strong retention from half hour to half hour!
As for some usual fare, Tosh.O continued its success. The show pulled in 2.27 million viewers and a 1.4 demo - a very young skewing series. Its lead out, The Jeselnik Offensive, continued to put up numbers similar to its past few airings: 1.23 million viewers and a 0.8 demo.
BET had its comedy line-up of The Game (1.89 million/0.9 demo) and Let's Stay Together (1.53 million/0.7 demo). Those numbers are in line with previous episodes.
The series premiere of Who Gets the Last Laugh? over on TBS had little to laugh about. The show debuted to 1.52 million viewers and a 0.7 demo. That put retention at ~50% from an encore of The Big Bang Theory, similar to recently-renewed, Cougar Town. With a usual week two drop, things aren't looking too good for 'Laugh' at this point. We will keep an eye on the series though!
