FOX has renewed Brooklyn Nine-Nine, The Following, The Mindy Project, and New Girl for the 2014-15 television season.

None of the renewals are all too surprising, given FOX has to fill three hours of its fall schedule, due to the cancellation of The X Factor.

The only freshman series to get a renewal from the four is Golden-Globe winning Brooklyn Nine-Nine.  Despite its anemic ratings (its averaging 2.92 million viewers and 1.3 A18-49 demo rating since moving to 930), it was a given FOX would renew the show for a second season.  The series received the post-Super Bowl timeslot and, as mentioned above, won two Golden Globes this year, for Best Comedy and Best Actor (Andy Samberg).  For the entire season, Brooklyn Nine-Nine is averaging around 3.6 million viewers and 1.6 A18-49 demo, and receives a sizable DVR bump each week (most recent: 1.2 -> 2.2).

Two sophomore series, The Following and The Mindy Project will also return next season.  The Following has experienced some large year-to-year declines (as much as 20 to 30 percent), but is still doing okay on Monday nights.  Excluding its special Sunday airing, The Following is averaging 5.26 million viewers and 1.8 A18-49.  In the most recent available DVR data, the physiological thriller jumped from a 1.7 to 3.2, nearly doubling its live number.  The Mindy Project, which was removed from the schedule for a few months, averaged 2.79 million viewers and 1.4 A18-49.

The final renewal was for third year comedy New Girl.  Similar to The Following, New Girl is down significantly from season two (and from its season three debut).  Since it debuted to a 2.9 demo in September, New Girl scored a low 1.4 in its most recent airing...ouch!  The current season is averaging 3.61 million viewers and 1.8 A18-49 (not including its post-Super Bowl airing).  Like the other FOX series, New Girl also does well with DVR, the most recent data has it growing from a 1.3 to a 2.6 demo.

The four series join the previously renewed Bones, Glee, and Sleepy Hollow.
