For the second time, The Big Bang Theory has secured a three season renewal deal, keeping it on the air through the 2016-17 season.

Currently in its seventh season on the air, The Big Bang Theory is the top-rated sitcom, and one of the highest rated series in all of television.  The current season is averaging a massive 18.21 million viewers and 5.3 A18-49.

With the renewal secured, cast negotiations will begin.  A number of sources indicate Kaley Cuoco, Jim Parsons, and Johnny Galecki could score close to $1 million dollars per episode by the time the show reaches its tenth season.  The last sitcom to have stars earn that much was the final season of Friends, nearly ten years ago!

CBS officials note The Big Bang Theory is likely to move to Monday nights when CBS airs Thursday Night Football games, courtesy of a deal it secured earlier this year.

Multiple sources also say renewal talks are underway for the other Chuck Lorre sitcoms.  Two and a Half Men is expected to be renewed for a final season, consisting of 13 episodes, while Mike & Molly and Mom will receive full season pickups.  Official news is expected in the coming months.
