Netflix has given House of Cards a third season renewal, less than two weeks before its second season is set to begin airing.

The show was originally picked up with a two-season deal, although a third season was widely expected to happen.  House of Cards has been on a run as of late, scoring the first Emmy nominations for Netflix, and a Golden Globe win for Best Actress in a television drama, going to Robin Wright.

Netflix has yet to set a return date for the third season or how many episodes will air.  Season two begins streaming on February 14th, with 13 episodes.
