After four seasons and 49 episodes, A&E has cancelled The Glades.

The Glades premiered on July 10, 2010 to 3.55 million viewers and 0.9 A18-49, the largest ever for an A&E scripted series premiere.

The numbers fell, as expected, but for most of its four season run, the numbers were in the same ballpark range.  Surprisingly, its fourth season debut scored the largest audience for a season premiere since season one.  In addition, The Glades finished with its most watched finale ever for its fourth season (and now series) finale: 3.41 million viewers.

That large jump wasn't enough to save the series, however, as The Glades fell to all time lows in the time between its fourth season premiere and finale.  A&E has also had more success with its recent scripted options, Longmire and Bates Motel.
